Ingredients

  • 2 dl milk (this recipe also works with plant-based milk)
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice mix
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2–3 Vanajan gingerbread cookies
  • Honey for sweetness (add only after the hot chocolate has cooled slightly)
  • Whipped cream and crushed gingerbread cookies for garnish

Instructions

  • Crush the gingerbread cookies into fine crumbs.
  • Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the cocoa powder and gingerbread spice mix, and stir until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the hot chocolate into a mug and mix in some of the gingerbread crumbs.
  • If desired, sweeten with honey once the hot chocolate has cooled slightly.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with more gingerbread crumbs.
  • Enjoy warm!
